Remove EXIF Data & Location
Photos from phones and cameras carry hidden metadata: the exact GPS location where they were taken, the date and time, the device model and sometimes its serial number. This tool shows you everything a photo reveals and gives you a clean copy (losslessly for JPG and PNG) without uploading the photo anywhere.
How to use the Remove EXIF Data & Location
- Add a photo: Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP. Its metadata is read on your device.
- Review what it reveals: See GPS coordinates, capture date, camera and lens, software and owner fields. Location is highlighted in red.
- Download the clean copy: The cleaned file is re-scanned to prove nothing is left. JPG and PNG pixels stay byte-for-byte identical.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EXIF data?
EXIF is metadata stored inside photos by cameras and phones: date and time, camera model, lens, exposure settings, and often GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken.
Can people see my location from a photo?
Yes, if the photo has GPS EXIF data and is shared as an original file (email, messaging apps that send 'as file', cloud links, many websites). Removing EXIF deletes the location.
Does removing EXIF reduce quality?
Not for JPG and PNG. The metadata blocks are removed without re-encoding the image. Photos that rely on an EXIF rotation tag are re-saved upright at high quality so they don't appear sideways.
Is the photo uploaded?
No. Reading and removing metadata both happen in your browser, which is exactly what you want from a privacy tool.
