Frequently Asked Questions
What is the standard signature size for exam forms?
There isn't one standard. IBPS asks for 140×60 px at 10–20 KB, SSC CGL 2026 for 10–20 KB at about 4.0×2.0 cm, RRB CEN 02/2026 for 30–49 KB, NEET for 10–100 KB and GATE for 250×80 to 580×180 px at 3–300 KB. Pick your exam above and the tool uses the numbers from its official notice.
Why does the portal say my photo or signature is invalid when the size looks right?
Common causes: the file is below the minimum KB (a 200×230 JPG is naturally only 10–15 KB, under a 20 KB minimum), it's really a HEIC or PNG renamed to .jpg, the pixel size is slightly off, or the file name has spaces or special characters. This tool writes a real JPEG at the exact size, inside both the minimum and maximum, named photo.jpg or signature.jpg.
How do I increase my photo size to 20 KB?
Choose your exam or enter the minimum KB under 'Other exam'. If the image is smaller than the minimum even at top quality, the tool adds harmless padding bytes to the JPG file (the picture itself is unchanged) so it lands inside the range.
How do I make my signature background white?
Upload a phone photo or scan of your signature and keep 'Clean up the paper' on. It evens out shadows, turns the paper pure white, darkens the ink and crops tightly around the signature, then fits it into the required size.
Do portals count 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes?
It varies, so the tool lands safely inside both: the file is kept under the maximum counted in 1000-byte KB and above the minimum counted in 1024-byte KB. The check list shows the size both ways.
Should the signature be in capital letters?
No. IBPS and RRB notices reject signatures written in CAPITAL or block letters. Sign normally with a black pen on plain white paper.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping, cleaning and compressing all happen in your browser, so your photo and signature never leave your device.
