Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert an image to text?
Choose the text's language, then drop or paste the image. The OCR engine reads it in your browser and shows editable text you can copy or download as .txt.
Which languages are supported?
English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Bengali, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Indonesian, Russian and Simplified Chinese. Urdu works on printed Naskh text (like typed documents); the Nastaliq style used in most Urdu newspapers and handwriting is read poorly by the OCR engine.
How accurate is the OCR?
Clear, high-contrast printed text is usually recognised almost perfectly. Handwriting, low-resolution photos, heavy shadows and decorative fonts reduce accuracy. Crop to the text and use a sharp, well-lit image for the best results.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Recognition runs locally with Tesseract compiled to WebAssembly. Only the language model is downloaded; your image stays on your device.
